We return to Azerbaijan with the first film opera Arshin mal alan (1917) by composer Üzeyir Hadjibeyli, a love story with a delicate flavour of the East, performed by soprano Erika Escriba Astaburuaga.

The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées will thrill to the enigmatic and chilling atmosphere of Pierre Thilloy’s version of the Phantom of the Opera for orchestra and soprano, to accompany Rupert Julian’s 1925 silent film. Finally, the concert will draw to a stunning close in the presence of renowned composer Jean-Claude Petit. For this concert, the Orchestre Lamoureux will reinterpret the finest film scores to have graced great French film classics: Jean de Florette, Cyrano de Bergerac and Le Hussard sur le toit (The Horseman on the Roof). The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées will be transformed into an authentic film studio for the night.
