Nicholas Angelich  piano

Kreisleriana, a pinnacle of Romanticism, comes to life in all its pomp at the hands of Nicholas Angelich

Chopin  Nocturne op. 55 No.2, Etude  op. 10 No.10 et No.12
Schumann  Kreisleriana
Liszt  Sonata in B minor S. 178

American pianist Nicholas Angelich, with his powerful frame and dreamy air, is a keyboard genius. He has an exceptional gift for elegantly deciphering and performing Classical and Romantic repertoire, notably Brahms and Liszt, but is equally dazzling when playing Bach or interpreting more contemporary works. He studied with Leon Fleisher, but never forgets the advice of Yvonne Loriod, who introduced him to twentieth century music. He makes no secret of the fact that he enjoys duet, trio and quartet playing (his chamber music associates include Joshua Bell, Maxim Vengerov, the Capuçon brothers, and the Ysaye and Prazak Quartets, to name but a few), but he now returns as a soloist with a sublime Romantic programme.
