Bejun Mehta eventually made the decision to pull out of his recital tour scheduled for autumn 2015. Countertenor Franco Fagioli has agreed to replace him.
Audiences and critics alike are fascinated not only by the beauty of the Argentine countertenor’s tone, but also by the expressiveness and technical virtuosity of his voice, which spans three octaves. After winning the famous "Neue Stimmen" singing competition in 2003, he became a regular guest on international stages in Zurich, Vienna, Paris, London, Salzburg, and Munich. On the programme are arias by Vivaldi and Handel, including the famous "Scherza Infida" and "Dopo Notte", which are filled with technical challenges to allow his virtuoso voice to shine. "Astounding speed, leaps between intervals, endless vocalise passages, controlled notes, a lofty top register. Anyone not already familiar with the charms of the Baroque will be an instant convert.” (Bachtrack)
