Bertrand Chamayou  piano
Piano aux Champs-Elysées

Bertrand Chamayou performs Ravel's entire piano repertoire in a unique evening of music

 Ravel: complete works for piano

Approximate running Time : 2h25 intermission included

The most brilliant French pianist of his generation is not embarking on such an ambitious enterprise as Ravel’s entire piano repertoire lightly. After his triumphant Years of Pilgrimage by Liszt, he is focusing on the staggeringly difficult contrasting works of this most sensitive and modest of composers. The magic of Gaspard de la Nuit, the refined enthusiasm of the Valses nobles et sentimentales, the moving tribute of Le Tombeau de Couperin, and the sensual and shifting tableaux of Les Miroirs all share a magical, voluptuous universe which cannot brook even the slightest lack of precision, and only an artist of the calibre of Bertrand Chamayou can tackle them in a single evening. This is a poetic and instrumental tour de force.

Meeting with Bertrand Chamayou, scheduled on Wednesday 16th December, is cancelled
