The French cellist breathes new life into some of Tchaikovsky's most popular musical works

Tchaïkovski  Serenade for strings op. 48
Variations on a rococo theme op. 33  for cello and string orchestra
Arias from Eugène Onéguine for flute and string orchestra
Williencourt  EMTO - En Mémoire Tragiquement Optimiste op. 16, for cello and string orchestra

Advised by Zino Francescatti, and trained notably by André Navarra and Rostropovitch, Dominique de Williencourt is a sophisticated performer. The silky tones of his instrument and the elegance of his playing are the trademarks of his stage and recording career. However, he is also a musical explorer engaged in a constant quest for new harmonies and tones. Rivers and deserts therefore offer him scope for experimentation. In this new Parisian recital, he pays tribute to Russia, and Tchaikovsky in particular, in one of his recent compositions. Travel, encounters and sharing are all values close to the heart of the man and artist alike.
