Mitsuko Uchida  piano

Mitsuko Uchida imbues Schumann's romantic Sonata No.1 and Schubert's charmingly incantatory Impromptus with a dose of passion

Berg  Sonata op. 1
Schubert  4 Impromptus op. 90 D. 899
Mozart Rondo K. 511
Schumann  Sonata No. 1 op. 11

The young Mitsuko Uchida discovered the simultaneous joys of strolling through the Gassen (narrow streets) of Vienna and the richness of its musical history when her diplomat father was appointed to a post in the heart of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Now resident in London, she freely admits to loving the Viennese style and enjoys revisiting the city to explore all the facets of its rich repertoire, which features in the programme for her new recital this season.
